authentic olive oil
About Borgo Vaseppi
Our oils are made from a traditional Tuscan blend of Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo and Pendolino varieties. These are grown at different altitudes of between 200-700m on the slopes of Monte Cetona, allowing us to produce an optimal blend every year. Our groves are tended to following organic standards, which means we use no chemical fertilisers.
We harvest the olives early, forsaking yields in order to maximise quality. The olives are always pressed within 24 hours of picking in order to avoid degradation of the fruit. This ensures that the resulting oil has a balance of fruit, pepper and bitter tones.
We have our own press near the groves, which allows us to maintain the highest standards of quality control throughout the entire production process. Our oil is then stored under nitrogen in order to prevent oxidation prior to bottling.
All of the extra love and care that we show for our blends has been recognised by the many awards that our oils have won, including our consistent success at the Great Tatste Awards, a gold medal at the New York International Olive Oil Competition and the Olio Nuovo Award for the best medium fruity olive oil in the northern hemisphere.
